At United Nursing Services (UNS), caring for others isn’t just our profession—it’s our passion. While our daily work involves providing compassionate home healthcare and companionship to those in need, our commitment to the community extends far beyond our services. We believe in the power of community involvement and its profound impact on both individuals and society.
In 2019, we had the honor of one of the local businesses sponsoring the Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope, Inc. Pumpkin Patch. This vibrant event brought families and friends together to support a noble cause, fostering a sense of unity and hope within our community. We’re proud to continue supporting the Cancer Alliance initiatives in other ways as they continue to bring our community together.
As Halloween approaches, it marks the unofficial start of the holiday season—a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness. However, for many seniors who live alone, this period can also bring feelings of loneliness and isolation. This need persists beyond the holiday season. Through our home healthcare and companion visits, we’ve witnessed firsthand the profound need for companionship among our senior community members.
Opportunities to Give Back
This Halloween, we invite you to join us in making a difference. If you have young or school-age children, consider reaching out to local nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Many of these establishments welcome visits from children in costume, bringing smiles and laughter to residents who greatly appreciate the company.
But why stop there? There are countless ways to support seniors year-round. Volunteering your time can have a profound and lasting impact on someone’s life—and enrich your own in the process.
