United Nursing Services Insurance & Billing Policy

Medicare Covered Services
Medicare fully covers skilled home health services when they are ordered by a physician for qualifying homebound patients. These services can include skilled nursing services and therapies, along with home health aide and medical social worker services. There are no co-payments or deductibles.

In many cases, Medicare patients receive home health services after being discharged from a hospital or rehabilitation center, or after some other change in their medical status such as surgery, injury, a new diagnosis, or changes in their medication regimes.

Your United Nursing Services clinical director will coordinate your treatment plan and answer any questions you have about Medicare-covered services.

Private Pay and Private Insurance
At United Nursing Services we accept direct payment for services from long-term care insurance companies, most workers’ compensation carriers, private insurance and managed care companies, in addition to self-pay.

Unfortunately, UNS is not always able to receive payment directly from PPO and HMO insurers. However, as a courtesy to our clientele, we will file the claim for you to assist you in receiving reimbursement.

Our insurance department has years of experience working with third party payers to help you maximize your policy benefits while minimizing your out-of-pocket costs. We also inform you of any out-of-pocket costs up front and in advance, before the service is provided.

Our services are all-inclusive, and there is never a charge for an initial assessment (with services), or associated services, such as calls to family members, physicians and other caregivers. The only exception is mileage reimbursement when taking patients to appointments or running errands in the employee’s vehicle (not the client’s). There is never an extra charge or hidden fee.

Unlike other service providers, we do not charge a differential for services provided on weekends, nights or evenings. Our pricing is a flat fee, however holiday rates are charged.

Most home care agencies are either private or Medicare, therefore not working together for a common or united goal. United Nursing Services has been nationally recognized by Deyta as a HHCAHPS HONORS™ recipient patient satisfaction and meeting the best standards. United Nursing Service has also been rated nationally in HomeCare Elite as a “HomeCare Elite Top Agency.”
